If a soul is to be led to Christ the plan as given to us in the Word of God contemplates that the Spirit of God is going to do something in that heart in preparation for an intelligent decision of Christ.

A missionary convention was held in Rochester, NY, about eight years ago—the great Student Volunteer Convention that is held every four years, once in every college generation. Doubtless many of us who were there felt considerable satisfaction with ourselves at being at that convention. Uncertainty has robbed thousands of the joy of the Christian life. It is appalling to realize how many people are made miserable by the disease called doubt. People who read their Bibles, earnestly pray, faithfully attend church, and are upright in all their dealings may yet have no assurance of forgiveness and salvation.
But you need not continue this way. A true Christian has no need to waiver. Doubt robs of peace and rest. Disbelief interferes with service to God.

Meyer of London, England, on Sunday afternoon, September 19, 1926, at which time he gave a special address to pastors, Sunday-school teachers, and Christian workers. My first knowledge of Mr. Moody was as a Sunday school worker. Even as such, he was essentially an evangelist as he was in every other line of Christian activity. He never addressed a Sunday school, or convention, or a mass meeting of young people, but that his one object and effort was to lead the unconverted to Christ, and Christians to faithfulness, especially in securing conversions; and there was an intensity about him that secured his ends.

The basis for our message is in 2 Corinthians 5, some very familiar words, “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him” (v. 21).
Our thoughts are to center around the Cross of Calvary, the greatest theme a preacher can ever have. The message of the Cross will never be exhausted, for the half has not yet been told. We will never be able to fully understand its meaning until one day we meet together around the throne of God in heaven.
