God has always been ruling, during times of peace and even in times of war. This week, Pastor Lutzer speaks with us about God's eternal throne from Psalm 45:6-7.
"Your throne, O God, is forever and ever. The scepter of your kindgom is a scepter of uprightness; you have loved righteousness and hated wickedness." - Psalm 45:6-7a
We were created for God's glory. This week, Pastor Lutzer explores God's eternality from Romans 1:19-20.
"For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse." - Romans 1:19–20
So, who created God? This week we consider God's eternality from Psalm 90:2-4.
"Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever you had formed the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God. You return man to dust and say, 'Return, O children of man!' For a thousand years in your sight are but as yesterday when it is past, or as a watch in the night." - Psalm 90:2–4
The moment you and I speak about the attribute of love, there is a tension between how that love is to be applied. Pastor Lutzer explores the tension that comes with the love of God in Exodus 34:6.
"The LORD passed before him and proclaimed, 'The LORD, the LORD, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.'" - Exodus 34:6
How can we believe that God is loving when He doesn't intervene as we expect a loving God would? This week, Pastor Lutzer confronts our expectations of love from Romans 8:38-39.
"For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord." - Romans 8:38–39
If you are saved, there is nothing you can do to convince God to love you more and there's nothing you can do to convince God to love you less. This week, come with us as we study the love of God from Isaiah 54:10.
"'For the mountains may depart and the hills be removed, but my steadfast love shall not depart from you, and my covenant of peace shall not be removed,' says the LORD, who has compassion on you." - Isaiah 54:10
We are not allowed to define love based on our inclinations, because God Himself is the definition of Love. This week, we study the attribute of God's pure love from 1 John 4: 7-8.
"Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love." - 1 John 4:7-8
Because of Christ Jesus, you and I have the privilege to approach God's throne confidently in our deepest time of need. This week, we study God's marvelous mercy found in Hebrews 4:16.
"Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need." - Hebrews 4:16
