Every one of us has lost something: a job, a loved one, or a sense of normalcy. And such losses cause us to grieve—individually or, at times, collectively across the world. In the book of Ruth, we find two women whose worlds have been shattered by loss and who don’t know how to pick up the pieces and get back to normal. But in these deep shadows, they discover God‘s redeeming mercies.
