Is it not time for us to launch out into the deep? I have never seen people go out into the lanes and alleys, into the hedges and highways, and try to bring the people in, but the Lord gave His blessing. If a man has the courage to go right to his neighbor and speak to him about his soul, God is sure to smile upon the effort. The person who is spoken to may wake up cross, but that is not always a bad sign, he may write a letter next day and apologize. At any rate, it is better to wake him up in this way than that he should continue to slumber on to death and ruin.

What we are determines what we see. When a farmer visited The Moody Church’s large, beautiful sanctuary, he remarked, “You could put a lot of hay in here.” And you could! He saw through the eyes of a farmer. We, as
believers, should see the world through the eyes of Christ.
When Jesus saw the crowds, He said to the disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest” (Matthew 9:37–38) Let us ask God to be able to see the world as Jesus did.
Jesus didn’t just see an immoral Samaritan woman or a self-righteous Pharisee; He saw people who needed the hope of eternal life. He had compassion for the multitude. We must see with His eyes and feel with His heart. When He asked us to “pray that the Lord of the harvest will send forth laborers into His harvest field,” He was saying we should go and, figuratively speaking, be His feet. Finally, we must speak with our mouths.
Who are you praying for to know the love, forgiveness, and redemption of God through Jesus Christ? Will you go to the highways and hedges urging them to come into God’s kingdom?
