Luther And The Sacraments

Dr. Erwin W. Lutzer | None

Selected highlights from this sermon

Martin Luther continued to defend his points, even though Rome declared him a heretic. Through his work, the Christian world shifted. Popes and councils were seen as able to make mistakes. Christians began to personally approach God through His Word, changing the clergy/laity distinction. The sacraments went from seven to just two—communion and baptism.  Yes, debate continued, but a great deal of tradition was stripped away.
