Marks Of A Thriving Church

A Praying Church

Dr. Erwin W. Lutzer | October 2, 1988

Selected highlights from this sermon

God’s people were praying. Peter was in prison, facing the same fate as James, who Herod had killed. But God sovereignly intervened, and by His great power, soldiers slept, gates swung open, and Peter escaped.

There are many types of prisons today—prisons of loneliness, alcoholism, drugs, selfish ambition, success, money. Christians must be a praying people, because as we share the Gospel and pray, God answers and sets prisoners free.
