Any man or any woman who comes to us with any doctrine that is not according to the law and the testimony, let us understand that they are from the evil one and are enemies of righteousness. They have no light in them. You will find those people who are consulting familiar spirits from the first to the last, attacking the Word of God. They don’t believe it.
If it was a message from God, do you think you would have to go into a dark room and put out all the lights? God is not in that movement, and we want, as children of God, to keep ourselves from this evil.

The occultism of today is usually more hidden and subtle than in Moody’s time. The New Age Movement, which exists under many different names and different practices, uses the same basic message: You are your own god and have the power to access other powers in the spirit world. There is no need for repentance of sin or a change of lifestyle. Your problem is not sin, it’s ignorance. If you learn how to control “the powers,” you will achieve greatness.
The Bible condemns this in all of its forms.
Today, discernment is more important than ever. We cannot simply imbibe false teaching, no matter its source. The Bible alone is the basis for all we need to know about our relationship with God, angels, demons, and eternal matters. False teachers who claim direct communication from God by saying, “The Lord said to me…” must be shunned.
God takes His revelation seriously. It is so much better to be divided by truth than to be united in error.
