Building God's Way

Praying While Building

Dr. Erwin W. Lutzer | January 5, 1992

Selected highlights from this sermon

Jerusalem was in ruins and even though Nehemiah had a comfortable and respected position in the Persian Empire, he wept for his people and his land. And he did something else—he prayed.

Nehemiah not only prayed, he acted. He took his requests to the king, and ended up becoming a part of God’s answer to his prayer because he was sent to the land of Judah to rebuild. Through Nehemiah’s eyes, we can see how active and believing prayer can change things.
