Rescued From Self-Obsession Part 1
April 21, 2021
Part 1 of 2
After the first murder recorded in the Bible, Cain had no remorse for killing Abel. Rather, he bemoaned his fate of being made a restless wanderer. He was self-absorbed in his own circumstances. Sin turns us in on ourselves, self-focus and self-preoccupied, and the only way we can get our eyes off ourselves is through the redemption Jesus provides.
These messages, based on the book of Romans, show that in the gift of salvation we see God at His best; the cross is God’s farthest outreach to us. Here we see the full range of His attributes, all converging together in an ambitious rescue plan for us as sinners.
The overriding message of the series is that the Gospel, properly understood, is not simply to believe on Christ at a point in time, but rather to understand why we need the Gospel every single day. We must depend on Christ to represent us to the Father daily, hourly. Here is hope for great sinners and instruction for struggling saints.
This series contains 12 sermons on 6 CDs.
