The Christian's Best Friend

When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. John 16:13

D.L. MOODY
There is not a truth that we ought to know but the Spirit of God will guide us into it if we will let Him. If we will yield ourselves up to be directed by Him and let Him lead us, He will guide us into all truth. It would have saved us from a great many dark hours if we had only been willing to let the Spirit of God be our counselor and guide.
Lot never would have gone to Sodom if he had been guided by the Spirit of God. David never would have fallen into sin and had all that trouble with his family if he had been guided by the Spirit of God.
There are many Lots and Davids nowadays. The churches are full of them. Men and women are in total darkness, because they have not been willing to be guided by the Spirit. “He shall guide you into all truth.”

ERWIN LUTZER
When the Spirit has His way, any real transformation is an inner transformation. This is not behavior modification; the Spirit of God changes our desires. When we trust Christ as our Savior, one of the first desires He changes is that we begin to love God. The Spirit transforms us, yes, but we must also seek the Spirit of God. Are you willing to be open to the Spirit to let Him have His way? There’s a cost involved. Oh, receiving the Spirit is a gift that is free but there’s a cost to walk in the Spirit, and that is to get serious. The Spirit does not enter closed doors.

PRAYER
Father, may your Holy Spirit have His way in my life and lead me into truth regardless of the cost.

REFLECTION QUESTIONS
Is there anything stopping you from letting the Spirit have His way?

The Holy Spirit is always indwelling a believer. What are the implications of this?
