God's Exclusive Treasures

And one called to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory!” Isaiah 6:3

D.L. MOODY
When we see the holiness of God, we shall adore and magnify Him. Moses learned this lesson. God told him to take his shoes from off his feet for the place where on he stood was holy ground (Exodus 3:5). When we hear men trying to make out that they are holy, and speaking about their holiness, they make light of the holiness of God. It is His holiness that we need to think and speak about; when we do that, we shall be prostrate in the dust.

ERWIN LUTZER
God is holy and altogether separate. Our holiness means we’re set apart to God, free of sin’s power to be God’s exclusive treasure.
Think of what it means to belong to God. Although we are by nature children of wrath (Ephesians 2:3), we have been born again into an entirely different family, reflecting God’s nature in purity and love. This requires deep repentance, not just about the sins of the flesh, but also of covetousness or dishonesty. We are also God’s treasure. There’s no way we could ever accomplish our own redemption. Yet God paid for it with the blood of His beloved Son. How dare we magnify our sins, toying with them, when Jesus paid it all to redeem us from sin!
The call to salvation is a call to holiness. We become saints, God’s exclusive treasure, by faith in Christ. Now, it is our responsibility and privilege, by His grace, to pursue holiness in personal experience.

PRAYER
Father, I confess my casual attitude towards my own sin. Would you give me the grace to do whatever you ask me to do?
