Pastor Philip's Prayer for the 2024 Lausanne Congress on World Evangelization

Would you pray for me this week? I’m joining the North American delegation for the Fourth Lausanne Congress on World Evangelization hosted in Seoul, South Korea. History of the Lausanne Congress In 1974, Billy Graham and John Stott initiated the first gathering in Lausanne, Switzerland, responding in part to the failure of the “conciliar missions movement” which had fallen into theological drift. Graham and Stott believed the world needed an evangelically faithful gathering to coordinate the global church to reach the whole world with the good news of Jesus Christ. Subsequent congresses were held in Manila, Philippines in 1989 and … Read More >

God Alone

For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit. 1 Peter 3:18 D.L. MOODYHere we see that Christ was raised up from the grave by the Spirit, and the power exercised to raise Christ’s dead body must raise our dead souls and quicken them. Our Visit to Utah

This fall, Rebecca and I visited Salt Lake City to help promote KUTR, a Christian radio station that is broadcasting the gospel in Utah. We discovered that polygamy is still practiced more … Read More >

A Dim Light Is Better Than None

Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:16 D.L. MOODYIf every one of us was illuminated by the Spirit of God, how we could light up the churches! But to have a lantern without any light, would be a nuisance. Many Christians carry along lanterns and say, “I wouldn’t give up my religion for yours.” They talk about religion. The religion that has no fire is like painted fire. These are artificial Christians. Do you belong to that class? You can … Read More >

Power Unto Life

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes. Romans 1:16 D.L. MOODYI remember some meetings being held in a locality where the tide did not rise very quickly, and bitter and reproachful things were being said about the work. But one day, one of the most prominent men in the place rose and said: “I want it to be known that I am a disciple of Jesus Christ, and if there is any odium to be cast on His cause, I am prepared to take my … Read More >
