Watered by the Word

You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13

D.L. MOODY
These are the men who find Christ—those who seek for Him with all their heart. I am tired and sick of half-heartedness. You don’t like a half- hearted man; you don’t care for anyone to love you with a half-heart, and the Lord won’t have it. If we are going to seek for Him and find Him, we must do it with all our heart.
I believe the reason why so few people find Christ is because they are not terribly in earnest about their soul’s salvation. God is in earnest; everything He has done proves that He is in earnest about the salvation of men’s souls. What is Calvary but a proof of that? And the Lord wants us to be in earnest when it comes to this great question of the soul’s salvation. I never saw men seeking Him with all their hearts and not finding Him.

ERWIN LUTZER
The psalmist speaks of two men, two paths, and two very different destinies (Psalm 1). God blesses those whose hearts are perfect toward Him (2 Chronicles 16:9), who meditate in the law of the Lord. God knows the way of the transgressor; they are like chaff that the wind blows away. If we meditate day and night, we will be like a tree planted by the rivers of water (Psalm 1:2).
We don’t become spiritual by osmosis. It takes discipline! We must be committed to giving God and His Word our time, energy, and focus. The Word of God has such transforming power that when we are exposed to it in a meaningful way, it will guide and direct us even during our darkest hours. Even those of us who already know Christ should continue to seek Him!

PRAYER
Lord, open my heart to behold wondrous things out of Thy law. I seek you with all my heart.
