Moody Church Media Celebrates Dr. Erwin W. Lutzer’s Induction into the NRB Hall of Fame

CHICAGO, IL – Moody Church Media is honored to announce that Pastor Emeritus Dr. Erwin W. Lutzer has been named the 2026 recipient of the National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) Hall of Fame Award. This prestigious induction recognizes Pastor Lutzer’s more than four decades of steadfast commitment to preaching the gospel and his transformative impact on Christian media worldwide.

The NRB Hall of Fame Award is the association’s highest honor, reserved for individuals who model excellence, integrity, and longstanding service in Christian communications.

NRB describes the Hall of Fame as a witness for current communicators, honoring individuals who have spent their lives “blazing trails and leaving paths for succeeding generations to follow.”

A Legacy of Excellence in Broadcasting

Pastor Lutzer’s journey in radio has always been about sharing the gospel with as many people as possible. His broadcast legacy at Moody Church Media is considerable:

  • Beginning his tenure in 1980 as Senior Pastor, Pastor Lutzer took the helm of the weekly broadcasts Moody Church Hour and Songs in the Night. Our Sunday services have been broadcasting since 1926 and are now known as Moody Church HourSongs in the Night has been on the air since 1943.
  • Launched as a daily program in 1995, Running to Win provides clear, biblical teaching to radio audiences, expanding Pastor Lutzer’s reach. To serve a changing media environment, the 25-minute version of Running to Win was introduced in 2008, which includes Pastor Lutzer answering listeners’ questions. Pastor Lutzer’s programs now air on over 1,000 outlets nationwide. 
  • From 2017 to the present, Moody Church Media’s International Initiative works with key ministry partners to enable the international growth of Running to Win. Today, the program is broadcasted in seven languages, reaching people in over 50 countries.

Continuing the Mission

Pastor Lutzer is still actively involved in Moody Church Media; he remains a frequent speaker around the world and he continues writing, adding to the seventy books he’s already authored, including his most recent work, Why Doesn’t God Answer My Prayers?, the 365-day devotional, Running To Win, and Marx and Moody (forthcoming in 2026). He continues to reach millions through Running to Win and Songs in the Night.

Pastor Lutzer and Rebecca have been married since 1969
and have three grown children and eight grandchildren.

Awards will be presented during the NRB 2026 International Christian Media Convention, taking place February 17–20, 2026, at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
