Turning water into wine was the first of Jesus’ public ministry, but the first miracle really happened in Peter’s life.
Jesus took a piece of clay named Peter and turn him into a rock so that other may experience the same miracle.
God still performs miracles in people lives today.
By looking at the apostles’ lives we can understand what it means to be part of the miracle working of God.
- Simon Peter, the sinner
- Simon was a religious Jew breaking under the weight of the law.
- The law made Simon ready for the light yoke of Jesus.
- Simon took off the yoke of bondage of religion and rested in Jesus.
- Jesus gave Simon a new name: Peter, a rock.
- Peter’s new name signified a new nature.
- The Lord prepares people to come to Christ.
- How is He preparing you?
- Andrew, the soul winner
- In the Gospels, Andrew is always bringing someone to Christ.
- Andrew was a converted man who simply told people what he had found—the Messiah.
- God wins people in different ways, but we should all be prepared to share.
- God calls us to make disciples for Jesus.
- Why do you want to follow Jesus?
- The Gospel is too good to keep to ourselves.
- Witnessing is not something we do, it’s something God does through us.
- Jesus, the Savior
- Our compassionate concern for other should cause us to lead others to Jesus.
- Grace and truth come only from Jesus.
- Step out of bondage into the light of God.
- Jesus is the Son of God whose death takes away the sin of the world.
- Jesus will receive you if you come to Him.
- Jesus gives us the power and authority to become children of God.
- It takes a lot of heat and pressure to make a jewel from clay, but Jesus can do that for you.
God take us, a hunk of clay, and transform us into a jewel for him.
